No matter the season, there's never a shortage of things to do when you visit Kingston.
When the warm weather shines upon us, Kingston features a regular schedule of Music in the Park, Movies in the Square and Canada's longest continually running farmer's market resumes its
regular operating schedule of Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in Springer Market Square. Spring also features First Capital celebrations marking Kingston's history as first capital city of a United Canada. It's a great prelude to a summer of excitement.
As summer hits full stride, entertainers from around the world call Kingston home for a week in July as visitors and residents alike are wowed by the annual Kingston Buskers Rendezvous.
Fanfayr Arts & Craft Show brings a hundred of the best artists and crafts-people from Ontario and Quebec to Confederation Basin where you'll find unique items in pottery, weaving, glass, jewellery, wood, paintings and more.
In August, Kingston hosts the 1000 Islands Poker Run and the Canadian Olympic Regatta Kingston (CORK), showcasing Kingston's premier position as a recreational hotspot and freshwater sailing capital of the world. The Kingston Sheep Dog Trials and Wolfe Island Music Festival are everyone's favourites. But before we call officially call summer to a close, The Limestone City Blues Festival takes to the streets, patios and nightclubs of the city to bring the best of the blues to Kingston.
There's no let down for autumn in the city - spice things up at Chilifest or feel the heat of professional dance at the Canada DanceSport competition. The Kingston Jazz Festival takes the stage and the season's schedules begin for the Kingston Symphony Orchestra and OHL Kingston Frontenacs.
There are no mid-winter blahs here with the annual night-time Santa Claus Parade and skating in historic Springer Market Square. FebFest is fabulous, featuring the annual Limestone classic - four on four shinny hockey with former NHL greats Kirk Muller, Doug Gilmour and friends. There's historic hockey too, with the reenactment of the first games between Queen's University, the Royal Military College and Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.
If you're not into outdoor activities consider our two great film festivals - ReelOut Queer Film & Video Festival or the Kingston Canadian Film Festival, both of which present the best in contemporary film.
